Where are you located?

Costa Rica Adventure Divers is a PADI Dive Center located in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel riders of Osa in Drake Bay and independent.

How will I arrive to Drake Bay from San Jose?

Plane from San Jose to Drake

National SANSA or TRAVELAIR airlines fly daily to Drake. Approximate duration of 45 min flight. From the airport on arrival you can take a taxi to your hotel.

Drive from San Jose to Drake

By the Interamerican Highway, you can reach the town of Palmar Norte. From here follow the signs of Rincón de Osa and then address Drake.

Approximate duration of the trip 7/8 hours. Between August and October the last stretch is not passable due to the level of the rivers.

Drive from San Jose to Drake via tiller

By the Interamerican Highway, you can reach the town of Palmar Norte. From here follow the signs to tiller through extensive banana and palm oil plantations. In tiller to park the car in local car parks and continue the trip by the impressive Río Sierpe in one of the boats that take you directly to Drake. Approximate duration of the trip 6/7 hours.

TRACOPA buses traveling daily to the South with output at 05 am are in San Jose. Come to Palmar Norte from where taxi or mini bus you can reach tiller where as in the previous option with a speedboat will end your trip.

What offer me Costa Rica Adventure Divers?

Costa Rica Adventure Divers offers diving excursions around the Caño Island, snorkelling and a wide range of diving courses among other services. With two full time PADI Instructors among the staff, we offer a variety of courses ranging from Open Water to Dive Master. We can also perform a Discover Scuba Diving course for all those who do not have experience and who nevertheless want to try this exciting sport.

We offer also excursions to the sighting of whales and dolphins. Trips to the National Park

Corcovado, rides horseback riding, Canopy, boat trips on the mangroves, night walk for the sighting of frogs and reptiles, fishing, excursions to sightings of animals and birds.

We can plan many activities tailored to your needs and tastes.

Which is the best season?

The dry season runs from December to April, starting from this month usually starts to rain in a progressive manner, but with a weak rain, mainly focused in the afternoon night, temperatures are high and the rains don’t affect the visibility of the water on the island. The months of September and October are the wettest and many of the businesses in the area are closed.

I need credit cards or I need to carry cash?

Drake Bay there are no banks or ATMs, some hotels and tour operators admit card payment, but they tend to apply a surcharge of 5%, so we recommend book and prepay in advance all the planned activities or bring cash, American dollars are accepted in all payments.

Which equipment I need to carry?

You don’t have to bring any equipment, rentals department you will find everything you need.

Can I book my dives with you even if I stay in another hotel in Drake Bay?

Yes, we do generally collected at most of the hotels in the area.

Information on regional flights, says that I have limited my luggage to 25 pounds (12 Kilos), what happens with my dive bag?

Will we see sharks?

Are they dangerous?

How are the boats?

Our boats are fast and perfectly equipped for security with local Patron of great experience in the area and life jackets.

We are not large groups since we want to be close to our customers attending them personalized both outside and inside the water.

We have 3 boats of different sizes we use depending on the groups and activity.

Which equipment will we use?

We use the highest quality Sherwood regulators, gauges, BCD, masks, fins and tubes. Wetsuits from 2 / 3mm full or short. We have computers and cameras for rent.

Which type of bottles?

80cu aluminium feet (12 litres). All tanks have updated Visual and hydrostatic testing.

They use regular K-valvula (the main type used in the United States. and across North America).

Do you have oxygen in the boat?

Oxygen and first aid on board kit Kit.
